Sub: Voice against increasing road accidents in our locality.

Sir,

I want to draw your attention to the ever increasing road accident within the town. Your paper has itself reported six accidents throughout the last sixty days.

These accidents are going down thanks to many reasons. Some of these are poor road lighting, increasing encroachments, open violation of the traffic rules by drivers, absence of safety procedures and lack of traffic educations.

The Deputy Commissioner of the city must chalk out a comprehensive plan to improve the traffic situation in the city. School children should be given proper traffic education. All vehicle drivers ought to be created to pass a screening check to gauge their quality as drivers. Roads should not only be repaired and widened but should also be provided with Sodium lamps to provide sufficient lighting.

Helmet wearing law should be strictly enforced. Those violating traffic rules mustn't be allowed to travel Scotsman free. The traffic police ought to be forced up to perform their duty honestly and with efficiency. These and many more steps need to be urgently taken to check this menace of increasing road accidents.
