Happy Diwali - Paragraph Writing

Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is an Indian festival of light, usually lasting five days and is celebrated in the Hindu month of Kartik (mid-October to mid-November). Among the various popular festivals in Hinduism, Diwali signifies the "emergence of good energy by ending evil energy".

The festival is closely associated with Goddess Lakshmi and is associated with many other regional holidays such as Sita and Rama, Vishnu, Krishna, Yam, Yami, Durga, Kali, Dhanvantari or Bishwakarma. Also, in some regions, Lord Rama defeats the demon-king Ravana. His kingdom celebrated the day as a Diwali festival as it returned to Ayodhya.

At the forefront of Diwali, celebrities prepare their homes and workplaces through cleaning, renovation and decoration with the help of Dia and Rangoli. At the time of Diwali festival, people wear their grandeur dresses, light the interior and exterior of their houses with diyas and rangoli (oil lamps or candles), worship Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity and wealth, and attend family feasts, where sweets and gifts are offered. Diwali is also a big cultural event for Hinduism and Jainism in the Indian subcontinent.

Twenty days after the Dussehra (Dussehra, Dasain) festival with Dhanteras or regional equivalents Diwali is observed , when the festival-goers clean their houses and decorate the floor with preparations like Rangoli. The second day is Naraka Chaturdashi, or the regional equivalent of Diwali, which is suitable for Hindus in southern India.

Besides, all over India, various Indian communities observe the third day, the day of Lakshmi Pujo and the dark night of the traditional month. Besides, in some parts of India, Diwali is observed the day after Lakshmi Pujo. It is also marked with Govardhana Puja and Balipratipada (Padva), which is dedicated to the relationship between wife and husband. Among the five days of Diwali observation in Hindu community, the last day is observed as bhaiphota which is dedicated to the bond of sister and brother, while other Hindu and Sikh communities mark this day as Bishwakarma Puja and maintain it in their workplaces and observe it in prayer to the deity.

Some other religions in India also celebrate their respective festivals along with Diwali. According to Jains Diwali is celebrated as the marks of the final liberation of Mahavira, the Sikhs celebrate the release of Guru Hargobind from the prisons of the Mughal Empire, while the newly converted Buddhists, like Buddhists, celebrate Lakshmi. Hindus usually celebrate Diwali by worshiping Goddess Kali.

The main day of Diwali (Lakshmi Puja Day) is a public holiday in Fiji, Guyana, India, Malaysia (excluding Sarawak), Mauritius, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Suriname, and Tobago and Trinidad.

Dear Arun,

How our minds always do for the joy of the festival. The festival means eating and drinking, which is a big deal. And if this festival is Diwali then there is no place. Because there are different festivals in any religion but in Diwali or Holi, the festival of colors, people of all religions forget all differences, race, religion and become united in the joy of the festival. Diwali means festival of light, festival of love.

May the light of God fill your whole life! I also extend my best wishes to all members of your family. Stay safe from crackers.

Wish you and all your family Happy Diwali. Let every moment of yours be brighter than light. Let all the sataranga light declare its bright presence in your life. Pray to God happiness for the rest of your life. And all your wishes come true.
