Some boys and some frogs
Answer: It was a hot summer afternoon. After their lessons were over the boys decided to play ducks and drakes among them in a pond just to have some fun.
They said to one another, “it is terribly hot outside. Let us go to the pond and play ducks and drakes. It will keep our body temperature under control as well as provide us some pleasure.”
Incidentally some frogs had been living there for some years. As the boys started playing ducks and drakes, the stones thrown by them hit the floating frogs. Not only that the stones hurt many of them. As the water had become immensely hot it was impossible for the frogs to stay under the water for a long time. Some were even dying at the sudden attack of the unsympathetic boys.
However it delighted the boys. So they said to each other, “Look how we are making the frogs jump at the movement of the stones.” Now no frogs can hide themselves in the water. So they began to throw more stones at them.
The frogs were thinking, “We hope that this cruel activity of the boys will end quickly. It will be better for us not to quarrel but to wait for a short while.”
However, the situation gradually went out of the control of the frogs. So, at last an old frog raised his head and firmly said, “Why are you throwing stones at us? What harm have we done to you?
“We’re just playing and having fun," the boys replied excitedly, and added, "Stupid old frog, can't you see that?"
Now the old frog realized that there was no feeling in these boys for those frogs who were getting injured and dying only because of their joyful play and they were in the most cruel and inhuman condition.
“Boys, stop your sport immediately”, said the frog protesting angrily, “Because what is play to you is death to us. After all it is our dwelling place and not your dumping ground.” Then the boys felt sorry for their folly and stopped the cruel sport. From then on the small boys did not hurt anyone without reason.
Moral: “what is play to one is death to another.” Or, “we should feel for others.”
