17, February, 2022, Mumbai: Popular musician Bappi Lahiri passed away last Tuesday. He breathed his last at a hospital in Mumbai. He was 69 years old at the time of his death. News agency PTI reported the information. The shadow of mourning once again engulfed the world of entertainment along with the death of the ‘Disco-king’, Bappi Lahiri.

He has given multiple songs in Bollywood. Bappi Lahiri has always been known for his distinctive voice and music in films.

He could also be recognized by his gold ornaments.

It is learned that he breathed his last at a private hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at around 11 pm. Hospital director Dr Deepak Namjoshi told the news agency, PTI, “Bappi Lahiri was hospitalized for a month. He was released on Monday. But on Tuesday, his condition suddenly deteriorated. Then the family members called the doctor at home. He was later brought to the hospital. He had many health problems. He died of obstructive sleep apnea on Tuesday night.

It is to be noted that Bappi Lahiri was also infected with corona virus in April 2021. At that time he was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

Bappi Lahiri was born on 27 November 1952 in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. Bappi Lahiri composed her music for the first time in the 1973 Hindi film, Nanha Shikari. A year later, he also composed music for the Bengali film, Dadu. Bappi was the nephew of legendary singer Kishore Kumar. His real name was Alokesh Lahiri.

Bappi Lahiri has won the hearts of all people through his music and songs. She sang in superhit films like 70s Disco Dancer, Sharabi and Namak Halal. And even today this song is in everyone's heart. His last song in Bollywood was 'Bangkas' from the movie Baghi-3 of 2020.

Musician Usha Uthup broke down in tears over the death of Bappi Lahiri. He said that one of the most popular songs of his life was sung by Bappi Lahiri. The last time I talked to him was before Kovid. Usha Uthup said that she was the disco king in the world of Indian music. He said that it was very difficult to accept his death.

Along with the disco, Bappi Lahiri has composed various wonderful songs. These include "Sharabi", "Chalte Chalte Mere Yeh Geet Yaad Rakh Na, Kavi Albida Na Kehna". Bappi Lahiri also had a touch of melody in various songs of Bengali cinema which have made history such as "Amar Sangi", "Chirdinai Tumi Yeh Amar", and “Gurudakshina". From the end of the seventies to the end of the eighties and beyond, the era of Bappi Lahiri has been running in parallel in both Bollywood and Tollywood.
