The King and Queen of Siam had so many daughters that they decided to name January, February, March after the English months to remember the names of their daughters. And finally named their little girl Princess September.

The king had a strange practice of giving gifts instead of receiving them on his birthday. Thus he gifted all his daughters a green parrot in a golden cage. The princesses gave the parrots an hour a day and taught them to say 'God Save the King' and 'Pretty Polly' in at least seven Oriental languages.

Unfortunately Princess September's parrot dies one day and she is very upset. He started crying. No one could stop the princess from crying.

The story begins when her parrot dies and a songbird appears before the princess instead. The princess's sisters then urge her to keep the freed bird in the cage, if she does not want to lose the princess's bird.

Once, the princess caged the bird. The bird then refuses to eat or sing and instead, becomes depressed. Thus, the little princess allowed the bird to be happy in its own way because the princess loved the bird very much. On the other hand, the bird loved the little princess and kept visiting her.
