Titan submersible debris: ‘Presumed human remains’ recovered
Portland, June 29: Human body parts recovered from the wreckage of the sunken Titan.
The United States Coast Guard has collected the wreckage and is bringing it to America. Last week, the Titan sank. There were 5 passengers on board. All of them died. The Titan sank to the bottom of the ocean to view the wreckage of the Titanic.
The wreckage of the ship was lifted from the sea on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Fragments of the Titan were collected in the port of St. John's in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The coast guard said in a statement that they were able to recover the wreckage of the Titan from the bottom of the sea. The evidence will be taken to the United States. The head of the US coast guard thanked the international cooperation. It will help the national investigators. There is still some work to be done to understand how and why the Titan was lost.
Titan's wreckage was retrieved from the depths of the Arctic sea by the Canadian vessel Horizon. Operating from a distance, this remote operated vehicle (ROV) is owned by Pelagic Research Services, a company with offices located in New York and Massachusetts.
Notably, the submersible, Titan went to the bottom of the ocean to see the wreckage of the Titanic. There were 5 passengers on the ship. Communication was lost at first. On June 22, the passengers on board died. The wreckage of the Titan was recovered by the United States Coast Guard.
