Dialogue between two sisters reciting a patriotic poem on Independence Day
Q. Write a dialogue between two sisters, where the elder sister is encouraging the younger one to read out a patriotic poem in her school on Independence Day.
Answer: Characters:
Elder Sister: Emma
Younger Sister: Lily
(Scene: Emma and Lily are sitting in their living room, discussing Lily's upcoming school event.)
Emma: (excitedly) Lily, guess what! Independence Day is just around the corner, and I have the perfect idea for you. How about you recite a patriotic poem at your school's Independence Day celebration on 15 August?
Lily: (nervously) I don't know, Emma. I'm not sure if I can do it. I get so shy speaking in front of the whole school.
Emma: (encouragingly) Come on, Lily, I know you can do it! You have such a beautiful voice, and your passion for our country shines through whenever you talk about it. This is a great opportunity for you to share that with everyone.
Lily: (hesitant) But what if I mess up or forget the words?
Emma: (smiling) It's completely normal to feel a little nervous, but trust me, once you start reciting the poem, your confidence will build up. And you won't forget the words. I'll help you practice until you know it by heart.
Lily: (still unsure) I guess, but what if the other kids don't like it?
Emma: (gently) Lily, remember, Independence Day is a time when we all come together to celebrate our nation and its freedom. Your poem will be a beautiful tribute to our country, and people will appreciate the effort you put into it. Besides, you have a unique way of expressing yourself, and that will surely captivate everyone.
Lily: (thoughtfully) I do love our country, India and I want to show my respect and love for it. Okay, I'll give it a try.
Emma: (cheering) That's the spirit! I knew you'd make the right decision. Let's start practicing right away. I'll be here to support you every step of the way.
Lily: (grateful) Thank you, Emma. I don't know what I'd do without you.
Emma: (hugging Lily) You don't have to worry about a thing. We make a great team, and I know you'll do amazing on Independence Day.
(Scene: Emma and Lily start practicing the poem together, getting more excited as the day, 15th of August approaches.)
