About Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi played an important role in the Indian freedom movement. He continues to struggle hard to make the people of India free from the colonial influence of the British.

He was born in 1869 in Gujarat. However, to struggle against the British, he does not take the path of violence. He believes Indian freedom must be achieved only on the path of non-violence. So he went to England to study law. There he became a popular leader for the freedom movement. 

Gandhi was a steadfast advocate of non-violent civil disobedience. Under his leadership, Indian people took part in protests against the British authorities. Among them, the Salt March was the most notable.

Gandhiji became a global icon of peaceful resistance. He had a deep philosophical approach to achieving freedom from British rule. Gandhiji believed in the principles of non-violence and truth.

Gandhiji was a strong believer in self-governance. He was always ready to sacrifice himself for the welfare of social reform. He played an important role in achieving Indian Freedom from British rule. He had gone through a series of various movements against the British. Finally, India achieved freedom in the year 1947.

Unfortunately, Gandhiji was assassinated in the year 1948 while walking in a rally. However, his sacrifice for Indian freedom was starkly notable. He was remembered as an influential and inspirational leader forever.
